Greene Broil1et & Wheeler announced a $10 million settlement on behalf of young man injured by a tractor trailer.
Dylan Holler was a 16-year-old star running back on the High School football team in 2016. He was driving to school one morning when a tractor trailer owned by Farms crossed into the oncoming lane, hitting his Jeep. He lost his left eye and spleen and suffered a traumatic brain injury, skull fractures, and damage to his heart that will require future surgeries, the law firm said.
''He has fought hard to make a wonderful recovery," said Bruce A , a partner with the Santa Monica firm. "He is back in school and is just a wonderful young man. Here he was just driving to school in the morning with all of this promise in his life when suddenly this vehicle just swerves into his lane of travel."
Holler was also represented by Greene attorney Alan Van . Farms and driver Gilberto were represented by Robert T. , managing director of Hosp Gilbert & in Pasadena; did not return a call seeking comment. The company was insured by National Insurance Co.
In their complaint, attorneys claimed was driving too fast for conditions when he was forced to brake to avoid a car that stopped to make a turn. They also alleged the tractor and double-trailer were poorly maintained, and failed to adequately inspect his truck's faulty brakes. Dylan Holler v. Farms, 18CV322569 (Santa Clara Super. Ct., filed Jan. 30, 2018).
