Peter Perlman heads his own firm in Lexington, Kentucky, where he specializes in products liability, crash-worthiness and trucking litigation. He is a member of the prestigious Inner Circle of Advocates, the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, the International Society of Barristers, and the Melvin M. Belli Society. He is a former President of the American Association of Justice (formerly ATLA), the Civil Justice Foundation, the Litigation Counsel of America, and the Kentucky Justice Association (formerly KATA). He has received numerous honors including the AAJ "Leonard Ring Champion of Justice Award," the KJA Lifetime Achievement Award, and the Florida Justice Association's "Compassionate Gladiator Award." In addition, the Southern Trial Lawyers has honored Peter with its "Warhorse Award," the "Tommy Malone Great American Eagle Award," and the "Mickey Smiley, Jr. Lighthouse Award."

He has been inducted into the University of Kentucky "Hall Of Distinguished Alumni" and the "Law Alumni Hall of Fame." In 2017, he was inducted into the "National Trial Lawyer Hall of Fame."

He has won more than 65 multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements and has written numerous publications on trial practice. He has served on the Board of the National Judicial College. He currently serves on the Board of the National Chorale at the Lincoln Center in New York. According to judges and opposing lawyers, Peter's greatest strength is his ability to simplify complicated issues. He frequently uses analogies, country music, proverbs, and other story-telling methods. In addition to his home state of Kentucky, he has practiced cases in many other jurisdictions.

Peter is married to the former Lana Dae Coyle. They have three daughters: Pam, Patrice, and Penne, four grandchildren, and an American Eskimo dog named Puff.
