Booth & Koskoff began as the Law Offices of Lawrence R. Booth in 1984. At the time, Larry Booth had been practicing law for 25 years and had been handling catastrophic personal injury cases for most of that time. Mr. Booth had already firmly established himself as one of the top plaintiff's attorneys in the United States while practicing with the firm of Silver, McWilliams & Booth for over 20 years. In 1978, Larry Booth was elected President of the Los Angeles Trial Lawyers Association, the largest local trial lawyer association in the country. In founding his own firm, Larry Booth wanted to focus on a limited number of major catastrophic injury and wrongful death cases in a small firm environment.
