Don Post was born in Chicago and moved to Miami where he lived for 53 years before retiring to Palm City, Florida. During the Korean War, Don served in the U.S. Army attaining the rank of First Lieutenant. He was a graduate of and received his law degree from the University of Miami. Before retiring, he was a prominent lawyer in Miami for over 25 years. Don has been described as "an old-fashioned real trial lawyer" with an easy laugh. He joined the Inner Circle in 1973 and took emeritus status in 1988. Don died at age 78 after a prolonged battle with dementia.
