Anthony Deal

Anthony Deal
Status: Deceased

(1947 - 2002)

In 2002, Tony Deal obtained an $12 million verdict in a medical malpractice case on behalf of a nine year old child who suffered a severe hypoxic brain injury shortly before delivery as a result of hospital staff negligence. The verdict came out of a rural delta county in Mississippi where there had never been a seven figure verdict before. The amount was double the mount of insurance carried by the hospital. After numerous post trial motions, the verdict was affirmed by the trial court and a $15 million bond was posted to secure the judgment. This was the last case Tony tried.

Tony died in 2002 after suffering a massive heart attack during our annual meeting in Vancouver, BC. He was 54 years old.

Tony was a truly nice, kind, and gentle man who loved fly fishing. He told all that would listen that "God does not count against the allotted time of man, his time spent fishing.

Although his membership was short, Tony made many friends in the Inner Circle.
