Luvera is past president of the Inner Circle of Advocates and past president of the Washington State Association for Justice. He is a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, The International Academy of Trial Lawyers, The American Board of Trial Advocates, The International Society of Barristers and the Damage Attorneys Round Table. He is the only lawyer from Washington state inducted into the National Trial Lawyers Hall of Fame. He represented the State of Washington in its lawsuit against the tobacco industry and was counsel in a lawsuit against the gun industry for the East coast sniper shootings. He has had record jury verdicts in three states. He was an annual instructor at the Spence Trial Lawyers College. He is the author of five law books and the contributing author to twelve other legal books. He has published more than 200 articles in legal publications and journals and has given hundreds of lectures throughout the United States to legal organizations.
